The story of the worry doll is a Mayan legend.  Worry Dolls (also called trouble dolls; in Spanish, Muñeca quitapena) are small, hand-made dolls that originate from Guatemala. The worry dolls are typically made of wire, wool and colorful textile leftovers and dressed in traditional Mayan style.

According to legend, Guatemalan children tell their worries to the Worry Dolls, placing them under their pillow when they go to bed at night. By morning the dolls have gifted them with the wisdom and knowledge to eliminate their worries.

Physically transferring your worries and sorrows onto the doll one by one, even though it’s imaginary, can be very useful way to manage your anxiety over your problems.

These colorful little dolls are much too beautiful to keep hidden away so we’ve created earrings and necklaces to show off your Worry Doll and share her legendary story.

Please keep in mind that these lovely dolls are hand crafted and may not be exactly the same from one to another.   We’ve done our very best to match colors and size.
